Where Are Assassin's Creed Saves Stored?

Ubisoft Connect savegames folder with per account and per game ID subfolders on Windows.

Last updated

Modern Assassin's Creed games save through Ubisoft Connect into a savegames folder: first a folder for your Ubisoft account ID, then one per game ID. Saves are numbered files inside.

The same tree covers Far Cry, Anno and other Ubisoft titles, each with its own game ID folder. Cloud sync mirrors it, but local files are what you copy by hand.

Where Assassin's Creed stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\[AccountID]\[GameID]

Path follows your Connect install location. Back up the game ID folder whole; individual saves reference each other.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my Ubisoft account folder?

There is usually exactly one long hex folder under savegames. That is your account; game ID folders sit inside it.

Can I move AC saves between Steam and Ubisoft Connect copies?

Yes when versions match: copy the game ID folder contents across. Keep a backup first, since mismatched builds reject saves.
