Where Does WPS Office Store Config Files?

WPS Office on Windows stores per user program data under Kingsoft folders in Local and Roaming AppData. Versioned office6 folders hold settings and runtime files.

Last updated

A standard install places user files under AppData Local Kingsoft WPS Office with a version number in the path. Shared addons and roaming settings live under AppData Roaming Kingsoft.

Close all WPS processes before backup or cleanup. Version upgrades can leave old version folders behind, so check the exact version folder in use.

Frequently asked questions

Where are WPS templates kept?

Built in templates ship inside the office6 install tree. Save personal templates to a document folder and point WPS to it in Settings so updates do not overwrite them.

Can I delete old version folders?

Yes after upgrading and rebooting, if no WPS process uses them. Keep the current <version> folder and the Roaming Kingsoft data, then uninstall from Control Panel if a full cleanup is needed.
