Where Does Twist Store Sessions and Settings?

Twist Electron sessions, cache and settings per desktop OS.

Last updated

Twist runs on Electron, so workspaces cache messages locally in per-OS app-data folders while history stays server-side. Clearing cache logs out nothing.

Cache wipes fix most Twist weirdness. Threads and decisions reload from the server afterward.

Where Twist stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Twist

Session storage, cache and settings inside; exact subfolders can vary with Electron updates, so copy the whole tree for migration. Message history itself lives server-side.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Twist

Same Electron layout as Windows. Clear cache here when the app shows stale threads.

Linux
~/.config/Twist

Config-tree sessions and cache. Snap builds redirect under ~/snap instead.

Frequently asked questions

Will clearing Twist cache delete messages?

No. History lives on Twist servers. Local folders above hold disposable cache and sessions.

How do I migrate Twist to a new machine?

Just log in fresh. The folders above carry no irreplaceable data.
