Where Does ONLYOFFICE Store Config and Plugins?
ONLYOFFICE DesktopEditors keeps user data, plugins and interface state in a per user app data folder. The install folder holds program files and default plugins.
Last updated
On Windows the user folder is under LocalAppData ONLYOFFICE DesktopEditors. On macOS it is under Application Support for the asc.onlyoffice.ONLYOFFICE bundle.
Recents and window state are regenerated by the app. For a clean reset, close the editors, rename the user folder, then restart and retest.
Where ONLYOFFICE DesktopEditors stores this, by platform
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ONLYOFFICE\DesktopEditors\data\sdkjs-plugins
<username> is the Windows account name. The parent DesktopEditors folder holds user data and cache. Delete or rename it only while the editors are closed to force defaults.
~/Library/Application Support/asc.onlyoffice.ONLYOFFICE/data/sdkjs-plugins
~ is the macOS user home. The parent data folder holds user plugins and local state. Use Finder Go to Folder to open it while ONLYOFFICE is quit.
Frequently asked questions
Where are recent files remembered?
Recents are kept in local app data, not in the document folder. Clear the list from the app Recent screen or reset it by renaming the user data folder while the app is closed.
Where do manual plugins go?
Place an unpacked plugin GUID folder in the sdkjs-plugins path for the current OS, then reload plugins in the Plugin Manager. Keep a copy outside app data so updates do not remove it.
