Cubase stores projects (.cpr) in a user chosen project folder and keeps preferences in a versioned Steinberg folder. Templates and presets use related Documents and Library paths.

A Cubase project is a .cpr file plus auto created Audio, Edits, Images and Track Pictures subfolders. Default project parent is set in the Hub.
Preferences, key commands, window layouts and profiles live in a versioned folder. Replace version placeholder with installed version such as Cubase 14 or Cubase 15.

Where are Cubase project files and audio?
In the project folder you pick at creation, centered on a .cpr file. Audio recordings go to the Audio subfolder. For portability use File > Back up Project to collect all referenced media into a new folder.
How do I reset preferences safely?
Close Cubase, rename the Cubase <version>_64 (Windows) or Cubase <version> (Mac) folder as backup, then restart to rebuild defaults. Restore by deleting the new folder and restoring the old name. Profiles include prefs, toolbars, workspaces and key commands, but not Studio Setup or Control Room settings.
