Where Are Beat Saber Custom Songs and Player Data?

The Steam version reads community maps from Beat Saber_Data\CustomLevels inside the install folder. Scores and progress live separately in AppData\LocalLow\Hyperbolic Magnetism.

Last updated

On Steam the install folder holds official DLC plus the CustomLevels folder used by mods. Community maps go in one subfolder per song inside CustomLevels.

PlayerData, settings and scores live under LocalLow in the Hyperbolic Magnetism branch. Back up both locations before a reinstall or mod update.

Where Beat Saber stores this, by platform

Windows
<SteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\Beat Saber\Beat Saber_Data\CustomLevels\

<SteamLibrary> is the Steam library root, often C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam. Each song uses its own subfolder. SongCore mod is required to load these maps in game.

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Hyperbolic Magnetism\Beat Saber\

%USERPROFILE% is usually C:\Users\<username>. PlayerData.dat and settings.cfg in this folder hold progress and options. Steam Cloud can sync parts of this folder.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my custom songs vanish after an update?

Game updates can clear or ignore the CustomLevels folder and break SongCore. Restore from backup, update mods first, then relaunch.

Which file holds scores and progress?

PlayerData.dat in the Hyperbolic Magnetism folder holds local progress. Copy the full Beat Saber LocalLow folder to preserve scores plus settings.cfg.
