Where Is the Ungoogled-Chromium Profile Folder?

Ungoogled-Chromium profile folder on Windows, macOS and Linux with bookmarks, extensions and cache.

Last updated

Ungoogled-Chromium stores profiles in Chromium-family folders without the Google sync layer. Bookmarks, extensions, history and cookies live in a User Data tree next to the binary's platform default.

No account sync exists to rescue you, so the profile folder is the only backup. Copy it whole and every extension plus its settings travels.

Where Ungoogled-Chromium stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Chromium\User Data

Default profile is the Default subfolder, with Bookmarks and Preferences files inside. Confirm the Chromium folder name on your build since packagers occasionally rename it. Copy with all browser windows closed.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Chromium

Same User Data layout with the Default profile inside. Reach it through Finder Go > Go to Folder.

Linux
~/.config/chromium

Same profile tree as the other builds. Back up the whole chromium folder to include extensions and local storage.
