Where Does Edge Store Your Profile Data?
Microsoft Edge profile and cache location on Windows, macOS and Linux, plus how to confirm the exact path.
Last updated
Edge is Chromium based, so its profile layout mirrors Chrome with Microsoft paths swapped in. Bookmarks, history and extensions sit in a Default folder (or Profile 1, Profile 2 for extra profiles).
Do not guess between versions. Type edge://version in the address bar and read the Profile path line. That line is authoritative for your install.
Where Microsoft Edge stores this, by platform
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default
Extra profiles sit next to Default as Profile 1, Profile 2 and so on. Bookmarks live in a file named Bookmarks with no extension.
~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft Edge/Default
In Finder use Go > Go to Folder. Extra profiles sit next to Default under the Microsoft Edge folder.
~/.config/microsoft-edge/Default
Extra profiles sit next to Default as Profile 1, Profile 2. Managed installs can relocate this with the UserDataDir policy.
