Where Are Manor Lords Saves Located?

Manor Lords save folder on PC under LocalAppData with slot families of .sav, descriptor and thumbnail files.

Last updated

Manor Lords is an Unreal game, so saves live under LocalAppData in a ManorLords folder. Each slot is a small family of files: the state .sav, a descriptor .sav and thumbnail images.

Early access patches have moved the folder before, stranding saves in the old spot. If saves vanish after an update, check both the AppData path and the old install-directory path.

Where Manor Lords stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ManorLords\Saved\SaveGames

One slot looks like saveGame_<slot>.sav plus saveGame_<slot>_descr.sav and .png thumbnails. Copy the whole SaveGames folder with the game closed. Some older installs used a Saved folder inside the Steam install directory, so look there if this path is empty.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Manor Lords saves?

Copy the full SaveGames folder, keeping each slot's .sav, descriptor and thumbnails together. A lone state file without its descriptor may not load.

Why did my Manor Lords saves disappear after a patch?

Early access builds changed the save path between versions. Check the old install-folder Saves location and copy any stragglers into the AppData path above.
