Where Does LOOT Store Settings and Masterlists?

LOOT AppData folders for settings, masterlists and user rules.

Last updated

LOOT keeps its settings, downloaded masterlists and user metadata in Local AppData, separate from the games it sorts. Backing up one folder preserves years of custom load-order rules.

User metadata is the treasure. Masterlists refresh from the internet, but your personal rules do not.

Where LOOT stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\LOOT

Settings.yaml, per-game folders with masterlist.yaml, userlist.yaml and metadata. Copy the whole LOOT tree before reinstalls. Masterlists update themselves; userlist.yaml needs the manual copy.
