Where Are DOOM: The Dark Ages Saves Located?
DOOM The Dark Ages save locations on Steam and Battle.net, which use completely different folders.
Last updated
The Steam and Battle.net releases of The Dark Ages do not share a save folder. Steam keeps saves in its userdata tree under app ID 3017860, while Battle.net uses the classic id Software Saved Games path.
Game Pass and Microsoft Store copies use a wgs container instead, which is opaque on purpose. Back up from the copy you actually play.

%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOMTheDarkAges\base\savegame
Battle.net location per Bethesda support. The Steam build instead saves under <Steam>\userdata\<your Steam ID>\3017860. Game Pass builds use a SystemAppData\wgs container under the BethesdaSoftworks package folder. Copy saves with cloud sync paused so the service does not overwrite your restore.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up DOOM: The Dark Ages saves on Steam?
Copy the 3017860 folder inside Steam userdata with the game closed and Steam Cloud allowed to settle afterward. Restoring means pasting it back into the same Steam ID folder.
Can I move a Steam save to Game Pass?
Not directly. The Game Pass wgs container uses different packaging, so transfers need community tools and do not always work.
